Alaska Day 1 Ganges Harbour, Salt Spring Island 31 nautical miles

All is well but laptop had a fatal crash. Sailing to Nanaimo tomorrow to buy new laptop. Hold on for the blog and pictures.

All my pictures but one got destroyed. So here it is.

Both Richard Hicks and Richard Collier came to the dock at Oak Bay Marina to see us off.  We will be missed, and it was very kind of them to see us off. It was a glorious weather setting for our departure. We sailed in a nice breeze from Baynes Channel under reefed main and genoa. The 20+ knot winds paired with contrary flood made for en entertaining maelstrom of waves and tidal pools. We had a good time in the sun. All the provisions are stowed away, the boat is in order, we are going to Salt Spring Island , Ganges Harbour, the Oyster catcher restaurant and pub with live music.

Alors, de loin maintenant, je vous souhaite un tres bon voyage. Je vous embrasse bien fort! Quelle belle aventure…
